He holds a Ph.D. in Research, Sociology, and Politics from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, along with master’s degrees in Communication and Politics and in Tax Consulting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Auditor, graduated from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, with more than 37 years of professional experience.
He has served as President of the Guatemalan Association of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors, has been a member of GLENIF, and has collaborated with AIC–IGCPA. As a university professor and advisor, he has contributed at various academic levels and has been recognized with the Gold Medal of the Assembly of Professional Associations, as well as awards for excellence in teaching and professional practice.
Since 1988, he has served as Managing Partner of Paredes, Saravia & Asociados, leading audit and financial consulting engagements. Under his leadership, PARSA joined the International Association of Professional Accountants (IAPA) in 2010, expanding the firm’s international reach and strengthening its global capabilities.
